Bonfire night in Bristol: Your guide to the city's best displays


THE weather has turned chilly just in time for Bonfire Night, so wrap up warm and head out to our pick of the best fireworks displays in Bristol.
Whether you are celebrating with sparklers tonight or waiting until the weekend, there are plenty being held across the city, and with most of them, visitors are being asked to walk wherever possible to cut down on jams on the road.
Tonight, Barton Hill Rugby Club in Speedwell will put on its traditional display, with the show starting at starting at 7.30pm.
And Keynsham RFC's show will be held in aid of the club. Crowds will be heading to the club on Bristol Road, and the gates will open at 6pm, with fireworks at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £7 per adult, £4 per child, £20 for a family ticket (two adults, two children). Pay on the gate, there are no advance tickets. There is also no parking on site.
Bristol Zoo Gardens will hold family-friendly, low-noise fireworks on Wednesday, November 5 and Thursday, November 6. Gates open at 5pm, with a display from 5.45pm.
Tickets cost £6.75 for an adult (member £5.50), £5.25 for children (member £4), children under two and carers go free. Booking in advance is essential.
Finally on Wednesday night, St Patrick's Church Fireworks Spectacular is set to dazzle at 7.30pm. Gates open at 6:30pm on Blackswarth Road, Redfield. £4 entry or £3 for children.
The skies will fall silent on Thursday night, before the fun kicks off again over the weekend.
On Friday, November 7, Downend Firework Show will be on King George V Playing Fields. Gates open at 5.30pm, the children's display is at 6.30pm, and the main display is 8pm.
Tickets cost £4.50 for adults and £18 for a family in advance online and various shops in and around Downend. Gate prices are £5 for a child (small child in arms/pram is free), £6 for an adult.
Henleaze Infant School Fireworks Night on Park Grove, will kick off at 6pm on Friday. Tickets are £4 in advance for adults, £5 on the gate. Children's tickets will £2 in advance, £3 on the gate. Pre-schoolers will go free.
Cleve RFC Family Fireworks Night is also set to go up on Friday, on Cossham Street, Mangotsfield. Gates open at 6pm, fireworks start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £4.50 for adults, under-14s are £2.50.
Family tickets cost £12 for two adults and two children. They are available from the club office.
Canford Park Charity Fireworks Fiesta is starting for the first time this year on Saturday.
The event used to be held on the Downs, but years of bad luck had called it off repeatedly.
It is now rearranged for the park in Westbury-on-Trym. Gates open at 6pm, and the display starts at 7pm.
There will be no bonfire or funfair, just a spectacular display. Tickets in advance are £4, or £5 on the gate.
