UPDATE 9:05 a.m.: Seattle City Light reports an
estimated 12,736 customers are still without power Sunday morning with
133 outages remaining following the overnight windstorm.
Puget Sound Energy reports 60,156 customers without power in its service territory, with multiple outages across the Eastside and Pierce County.
UPDATE 11:12 p.m.: Gusts and high winds tore down trees and blocked roads as more than 52,970 customers lost power in the Seattle area Saturday night.
Seattle City Light crews were investigating 200 separate outages that left thousands of people in neighborhoods like Ravenna, Capitol Hill, Queen Anne and Beacon Hill in the dark. Most of the outages were due to trees falling on power lines. Many people posted photos and updates of outages on the Seattle Times Facebook page, showing streets blocked by branches and limbs and damage to vehicles. One Duvall woman who has a gas water heater said the power outage was a perfect excuse for taking a hot bubble bath and reading a book by candlelight.
Power won’t be restored to some parts of Seattle until 5 a.m., according to Seattle City Light’s website. Puget Sound Energy also reported several thousand customers without power in areas of Bainbridge Island, Des Moines, Port Orchard and Anacortes.
Washington State Department of Transportation temporarily closed state route 520 in both directions on the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge due to water splashing over the roadway at 10 p.m. and winds up to 50 mph.
Seattle City Light customers can report an outage to 206-684-3000.
UPDATE 8:53 p.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning until 2 a.m. Sunday in the Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma areas due to strong southwest winds sweeping through the area with a low pressure system. At least 22,400 customers in the Seattle area have no power from 55 incidents, mostly due to fallen trees, reports Seattle City Light.
UPDATE: Seattle City Light is reporting more than 13,200 homes have lost power in the Seattle area, mainly due to heavy winds knocking trees down. The neighborhoods most affected include parts of northeast Seattle, Ravenna and as far north as Shoreline. Power won’t be restored in some parts of Seattle until 1 a.m, according to its website.

Seattle City Light reports there are power outages north of NW Innis Arden Way up to 224th Street Southwest. Crews were dispatched to the area. The website reports power will be restored at approximately 9 p.m.
