The Script might have made history as the first band to perform live in the Queen Vic. And Boyzone might have been sporting some impressive facial hair. But the musical event everyone has been talking about this evening was the reunion of S Club 7.
Performing a medley of their hits, it was as if Tina, Paul, Jon, Bradley, Hannah, Jo and Rachel had never been away.
Wearing leather miniskirts, shiny shirts and other pre-Noughties garb, they brought it all back to us with gusto.
What with the cheesy lyrics and dance moves to match, they really don't stop moving to the funky, funky beat - with their vocals suffering somewhat as a result.
But the group nevertheless managed to reach for the stars and follow their hearts desires.
"That was OK, wasn't it?" Sir Terry Wogan asked a relieved-looking S Club.
The band will take part in a Children in Need Quiz later this evening called Best Club 7.
