Eagles vs. Green Bay Packers predictions: Can quarterback Aaron Rodgers be contained?

GREEN BAY, WI - NOVEMBER 09: Quarterback Aaron Rodgers #12 of the Green Bay Packers carries the football in the second quarter against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field on November 9, 2014 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images) (Jonathan Daniel)One week after annihilating a bad Carolina Panthers team in primetime, the Eagles (7-2) head to Lambeau Field to take on a red-hot Green Bay Packers (6-3) team.
The game will be a much better barometer to see just how good this Eagles team is, as beating the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the road would be their best win of the season. It would also give them a huge tiebreaker advantage over the Packers come playoff time, which might be the difference between heading to Green Bay in December, or staying home in Philadelphia.
Will the Eagles get the job done on the road? Our beat writers are split on the outcome.

The Eagles have all the weapons and all of the components necessary to beat the Packers. After sacking Panthers quarterback Cam Newton nine times, forcing five turnovers and scoring both a defensive and special teams touchdown, momentum seems to be on their side as well. However, it's only a matter of time before Mark Sanchez turns the ball over again or the offense sputters in the red zone. This has the feel of a game that comes down to which team has the ball last.

Can the Eagles go into Green Bay and win? Sure, they can. The Packers are far from unbeatable. They’re running game is inconsistent and they haven’t stopped a good running back all year. What the Packers do have and what will be the difference in the game is home-field advantage and even more importantly quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And that might be enough.

This one is all about the defense, who has the ability to go into Lambeau Field and contain Rodgers. Sound crazy? The Eagles have the best pass rush in the NFL, and a secondary that has flaws, but also takes advantage of mistakes. Rodgers doesn't make many, but he hasn't faced a pass rush like the Eagles. The Eagles' offense wasn't perfect last week, and still put up 31 points. With another week under his belt with the first team offense, Sanchez will look better than he did last week. This is going to be a statement win for the Eagles, who will be considered the Super Bowl favorites in the NFC by Monday morning. .
