Iggy Azalea Performs ‘Beg For It’ For The First Time On ‘SNL’ — Watch

Iggy Azalea had the opportunity to perform ‘Beg For It’ live for the very first time on ‘Saturday Night Live’ alongside MØ on Oct. 25 — but did she squander it? WATCH and let us know!

There’s no question that Iggy Azalea, 24, is one of the hottest artists in music right now. Every single she releases or features on races to the top of the charts ever since the release of “Fancy,” and so it’s no surprise that she had the amazing opportunity to perform on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 25. Alongside , 26, Iggy performed her just-released single “Beg For It” — did she drop the ball? Watch below!

Iggy Azalea On ‘SNL': She Performs ‘Beg For It’ For First Time With MØ — Watch

Iggy released “Beg For It” just one day prior to her SNL performance. With Reclassified hitting iTunes on Nov. 24, this was perfect timing. However, she may not have been ready to perform it live — MØ definitely wasn’t.
Iggy did her best, but the performance felt awkward and too low-fi for what is supposed to be a loud, fun pop song.

Iggy Azalea & MØ — Did They Lip-Sync On ‘SNL’?

While many took to Twitter accusing Iggy and MØ of lip-syncing, we’re not so sure that’s what happened. It seemed, more than anytihng, like MØ was out of step with the back-up singers. If you listen to the single, you’ll note that MØ’s hooks are more sped-up than how she is performing it live.
In her performance, she seems to be singing not only slower than the single but slower than the back-up singers, who are having trouble keeping up with her inconsistent pace.
Maybe they didn’t give themselves enough time to rehearse, or maybe MØ simply made some bad choices when it came to perform the song live.
However, we don’t think that lip-syncing is at work. Let’s be real — wouldn’t the vocals sound way better if there was lip-syncing?
Nah, to us, this was a true live performance — just not a very good one. It’s surprising, considering that Iggy is usually a very strong and energetic performer — either MØ was bringing her down or the stars were simply misaligned that night.
Either way, we definitely like the studio version of the track! Listen to it here if you haven’t already; it’s a good jam.
